Methodist Offers Lactation Walk-in Clinic and Prepared Childbirth Class - June 18, 2018
Methodist Hospitals is offering a lactation walk-in clinic and a prepared childbirth class for mothers. Listed below is the schedule of summer programs in June, July and August.
- The free walk-in clinic is for prenatal and postnatal breastfeeding mothers where mothers can share stories, make connections and learn about available support resources. This clinic is hosted by Kim Sausman, RN, IBCLC at the Northlake campus and is hosted by Michele Lobo, RN, IBLC at the Southlake campus. Northlake Campus on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. third floor conference room 600 Grant St, Gary. Southlake campus on the second Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m., maternal fetal medicine clinic conference room, 8701 Broadway, Merrillville. For more information call 219-886-4734
- The prepared childbirth class is a four week course designed to assist pregnant mothers and their partners to learn about labor, delivery and immediate post-partum period. The first 3 weeks focus on labor; relaxation, breathing and breast-feeding. Week 4 discusses parenting topics. Southlake campus Maternal Fetal Medicine conference room, 8701 Broadway, Merrillville, on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Northlake Campus slick conference room (first floor), 600 Grant St., Gary at 6:00 p.m.
