CROWN POINT | The Methodist Hospitals Foundation will unveil the vision for the three Bead Town community art pieces during a reception with community leaders at 6 p.m. Monday at the former Crown Point library, 214 S. Court St.

The stunning beaded mosaics will depict iconic images of Crown Point, Gary and Valparaiso – the historic Lake Court House, Orville Redenbacher and the dunes along Lake Michigan.

Beginning Tuesday the community is invited to participate in the project, working alongside Bead Town artist Stephan Wanger, to complete the Northwest Indiana mosaics.

Both the Gary (540 S. Lake St.) and Crown Point (214 S. Court St.) galleries are open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Once finished, the artwork will travel with the Bead Town exhibit, promoting Northwest Indiana to other communities throughout the U.S.
