Master Facilities Plan –
Methodist Hospitals will invest $30.6 million to expand and upgrade its facilities at its Northlake campus in Gary. Elements of the Northlake project include:
- Emergency Department Renovation
When completed the renovated Northlake campus Emergency Department will feature improved patient privacy and increased flexibility for varying care needs. A key element will include improvements to better facilitate Northwest Indiana’s first and only Level III Trauma Center at that campus. Its design will also enable physicians, surgeons and staff to reduce ER wait times and improve overall efficiency.
- Intensive Care Units
The Northlake campus will feature a new 12-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a part of the Master Facilities Plan, Methodist will renovate the existing Northlake ICU to create an eight-bed ICU for surgical, neuroscience and trauma patients.
