Excellence in care consistently brings Methodist Hospitals awards and recognition. These include:
Methodist Hospitals has earned Chest Pain Center Accreditation by the American College of Cardiology in recognition of its high level of experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who may be experiencing heart attacks. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center, Methodist Hospitals ensures that patients who arrive at the hospital complaining of chest pain or other symptoms of a heart attack receive the treatment necessary during the critical window of time when the integrity of the heart muscle can be preserved.
To earn this accreditation, Methodist Hospitals met or exceeded a wide range of stringent criteria, including rigorous performance standards, and on-site evaluations by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Methodist Hospitals’ state-of-the-art heart care encompasses the entire continuum of care for the potential heart attack patient and includes such focal points as dispatch, an Emergency Medical System, Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Quality Assurance Plan, and a Community Outreach Program.
Methodist Hospitals is the first Northwest Indiana hospital to earn Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation with PCI by the American College of Cardiology. Methodist was awarded this accreditation in May 2019 based on rigorous onsite evaluation of its ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients.
This accreditation is evidence that Methodist Hospitals has demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients who come to a Cardiac Cath Lab for care, including diagnostic catheterizations and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures.
