Our expert care includes pre-natal, perinatal, and high risk neonatal services. Along with its outstanding nurses, Methodist’s Women’s Services Unit includes primary care physicians, gynecologists, obstetricians, perinatologists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists, and pediatricians.
Specialized programs, such as Advanced Obstetrical Services, and dedicated units provide highly competent care for any situation. Methodist Hospitals has Northwest Indiana’s only Level 2.5 and Level 3 neonatal ICUs. Our ICUs offer leading-edge technologies and specially trained nurses to care for babies born at Methodist as well as those transferred from other area hospitals.
Quality prenatal care helps give your baby the best start. Methodist Hospitals provides comprehensive obstetric care and free educational programs. Offerings include Childbirth Education, Breastfeeding Classes, Sibling Classes and Grandparent Classes.
Safe, secure and comfortable labor and delivery suites provide a warm, welcoming environment for moms, dads and newborns. In addition to our labor and delivery and antepartum/post-partum units, state-of-the-art surgery suites are located on the unit for immediate access should they be required.
Healthy newborns receive immediate care in the Labor and Delivery Suite before being transferred to the Wellborn Nursery. Tender, professional attention is provided by our highly skilled nursing staff, ensuring that each newborn’s first experiences in the world are positive.
Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU)
Babies requiring specialized attention are cared for in Methodist’s Level 3 NICU at the Northlake Campus. Highly skilled in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization procedures, our staff provides a full range of care to babies of all gestational ages. In the level 2.5 intermediate ICU at the Southlake Campus, growth and development issues are carefully monitored until the babies can make the transition to home.
