Methodist Hospitals Offers HIV Screenings - January 30, 2013

Methodist Hospitals’ emergency department offers HIV screenings through a partnership with the Indiana State Department of Health. Methodist is the only site that offers these screenings 24/7 to all emergency patients aged 13 to 70. Screenings are offered during the triage process to patients that live in Indiana and have a legitimate emergency room complaint. The OraQuick Advance Rapid HIV Antibody test produces results in 20 minutes.

The program has led to earlier detection of HIV-positive members, enabling more effective treatment and better outcomes for those affected. If you are interested in additional information regarding this program, please contact Victor Garcia by pager at 219.222.1247.
