When injuries, sudden severe illness, or other situations call for emergency services, it’s comforting to know that the Emergency Departments at Methodist Hospitals are ready to expertly handle them. Our Emergency Departments are staffed by board certified physician specialists in emergency medicine, trauma teams, and specially trained nurses who are skilled in providing emergency care.
Patients arriving at our Emergency Departments are assessed by a triage nurse who determines the level of care needed. Critical or life-threatening cases are given priority attention. We make every effort to serve patients as quickly as possible but delays can come about due to multiple ambulance arrivals of critically ill patients, a cardiac arrest patient, obtaining test results, and other factors. At all times, regardless of factors that may increase waiting time, every patient receives the highest level of quality care.
Trauma-Ready
Backed by more than 20 years of leading trauma programs, Methodist has the capability to care for significantly injured or ill patients at both campuses. Our Cardiac, Brain Attack and Trauma Alert Programs are designed so that emergency personnel on the scene can alert our Emergency Services department to coordinate clinical staff, and notify physician specialists and surgical teams in advance to expedite emergency care upon arrival at the hospital.
Fully Equipped
The comprehensive emergency facilities at Methodist include triage, multiple examination areas, trauma areas, private OB/GYN exam rooms, behavioral observation rooms, consultation rooms, and comfortably furnished waiting areas.
