Methodist Hospitals is pleased to announce the appointment of Michele (Shelly) M. Major, MS as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of The Methodist Hospitals, Inc. The effective date of her employment will be November 3, 2008.
Shelly brings to Methodist Hospitals 28 years of managing nursing and non-nursing operations. She has a breadth and depth of nursing leadership that will enhance our collective ability to launch a focused strategic direction towards a sustainable future. She has focused much of her career on driving improved patient care through active leadership around quality, patient satisfaction and nursing satisfaction improvement initiatives.
She most recently was the Chief Nursing Officer of The Community Hospital in Munster. During her career she has held leadership positions with healthcare systems and University settings, including:
