Methodist Hospitals’ Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian E. McFadden, FACHE as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Methodist Hospitals, Inc. The effective date of his appointment will be September 2, 2008.
Ian brings to Methodist Hospitals a breadth and depth of visionary healthcare leadership that will enhance our collective ability to launch a focused strategic direction towards a sustainable future.
Ian is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Roseland Community Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. During the past 23 years, he has held senior leadership positions in for-profit and not-for-profit private and public healthcare systems, including:
President & Chief Executive Officer, Caritas Health Services, Louisville, KY
Chief Operating Officer, Shelby County Healthcare Corporation Regional Medical Center, Memphis, TN
Vice President Hospital Services, West Tennessee Healthcare, Inc., Jackson, TN
Chief Operating Officer, HCA Putnam Community Hospital, Palatka, Florida
In addition, Ian was a Senior Operations Executive for FTI Cambio Health Solutions in Brentwood, Tennessee. During his tenure with FTI Cambio, he served as:

President and Chief Executive Officer, Essex Valley Healthcare, East Orange, New Jersey
Ian is also the founder and President of The Sera Corporation, LLC, a privately owned independent consulting firm serving institutions of healthcare and higher education. The firm was created to assist service oriented enterprises with the assessment and redevelopment of an organization’s culture for long term sustainability. Other core competencies of the firm included employee and physician satisfaction enhancement and customer training.
Ian’s educational background is as broad and diverse as his professional experience. He is a continuous learner, and values education as an opportunity to continuously improve.
