4th Annual Health Fair
The Urban League of Northwest Indiana an affiliate of the National Urban League and Lake Area United Way is inviting the public to its fourth annual health and education fair in conjunction with Methodist Hospitals and Pfizer. The free health fair will be held at the Genesis Convention Center on Wednesday, September 20th from 9 a.m. to noon.
Attendees will be able to take advantage of free health information and screenings. The free screenings include:
- Asthma
- Bone Density
- Diabetic testing/screening
- Foot screening
- Hearing screening
- Blood Pressure
- Prostate Cancer Screening
- Respiratory Solutions/Testing
- Vision Screening
Forest Harper, Vice President, Community Health Advocacy, Pfizer Inc, will be speaking at the health fair from 10:30 a.m to 11:00 a.m. on Wellness in our Community and the Uninsured. Mr. Harper is dedicated to building and maintaining relationships with community based organizations, while supporting community based education and outreach to insure access to quality healthcare and vital health information.
Health information will be available for those interested in cholesterol, diabetes, durable medical equipment, holistic care/holistic medicine, home health care, Medicaid, Medicare, Nursing Home/Extended Care Facilities, Physical therapy, Senior Health Insurance, wheelchairs/scooters and Wound Care Center.
