Celebrated Endocrinologist to speak at Methodist Hospitals
Nicholas Emanuele, M.D. has been ranked in the top 2% of endocrinologists in the world. Dr. Emanuele is Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines Veterans Administration Medical Center, Hines, Illinois. Dr. Emanuele is the key note speaker for Diabetes Update 2006, held on Friday, November 17 at Methodist Midlake Campus.
Diabetes Update 2006 is a program for nurses to increase their knowledge and update their skills regarding the treatment and management of Diabetes patients. November is National Diabetes Month. The all day workshop includes break out sessions focusing on: Pregnancy and Diabetes, Weight loss Surgery and Diabetes, Emotional support for children and families of diabetics, Insulin Protocol Practicum and Alternative Insulin Delivery. The most up to date methods and information will be discussed. Over sixty nurses have already signed up to attend the workshop.
We are inviting the media to attend the event and speak to the nurses and educators about the importance of Diabetes awareness and the advances that are being made in the treatment and management of this disease.
