Local dignitaries and administrators celebrated the opening of Methodist Hospitals’ new CareFirst facility at 1275 East North Avenue in Crown Point, on the campus of the Crown Point Sportsplex. This new facility is the first of three planned immediate care centers, with additional facilities planned for Gary and Merrillville.

The Pangere Corporation was the general contractor for the new building, and completed construction in a rapid eleven-week timeframe. Despite the pace, Pete Odinsoff of Pangere said it was “one of the smoothest projects he’s ever worked on.”

Crown Point Mayor David Uran commented on the growing activity surrounding the Crown Point Sportsplex, and the increased economic development that has arisen since its inception. “Sports tourism is an economic driver in our community, and we’re very thankful that Methodist chose to establish such a great facility here to serve the medical needs of these athletes and all of our residents.”
