Methodist Hospitals has renewed its multi-year agreement with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. The contract will allow Methodist Hospitals to continue to provide in network services to Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield customers.
“We are pleased to continue providing services to members of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield without interruption,” said Raymond Grady, president and CEO. “This new agreement enables us to continue working together to improve quality. Methodist Hospitals has a long standing relationship with Anthem and is committed to providing their members access to high quality health care services.”
Methodist’s announcement comes a day after Community Healthcare System announced that it had come to an agreement with Anthem. CHS had been out of network for Anthem customers since Dec. 31 due a disagreement over what constituted “fair and sustainable” reimbursement levels. Anthem is the largest insurer in Indiana and an estimated 30 percent of CHS patients are insured by Anthem.
