Healthcare Workers Head Back to Haiti

Methodist Hospitals Paramedic Program Medical Director and Mobile Intensive Care System Associate Medical Director, Nicholas Johnson, MD, is heading back to Haiti for a second trip with a team of volunteers to try and aleviate some of the suffering that continues after the devastating earthquake.

The team brought together by Hospitals for Humanity left on Saturday, April 17 for one week. Hospitals for Humanity is a nonprofit organization designed to decrease barriers to healthcare for people living in the least developed countries in the world.

Johanne Theodule, a physician assistant in the emergency department at Methodist Hospitals is also a member of the team. Johanne a haitian american, beleives she will also be able to serve as a translator in addition to her medical expertise.

Michelle Nizam, an ER nurse from Methodist is also a member of the team. It is her first trip to Haiti.

The team will return on Saturday, April 24. Please contact me to set up an interview.
