Staff RN/Labor & Delivery Job Description: The overall purpose of this job is to provide direct nursing care to a select group of patients while coordinating nursing services with those of other hospital service areas to ensure comprehensive, quality services. Functions include applying the nursing process in the delivery of patient care; assessing the patient’s clinical condition while prescribing appropriate nursing actions to meet the needs of the patient; assuring quality patient care utilizing standards of practice established by the Patient Care Services; providing educational opportunities with patients and other significant individuals and communicating effectively using both verbal and written abilities. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Indiana registered nurse license.
