Comprehensive
range of therapies for the clinical management of patients with
acute and chronic wounds.
A wound that
won't heal needs more than just another dressing. It needs the expertise
of a wound care team. The Wound Treatment Center has this expertise.
Our team provides a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and
treatment of problem or non-healing wounds. This treatment can promote
healing of the wound and reduce amputations.
The Wound Treatment
Center has experienced physicians and nurses on staff who will evaluate
your wound. Special diagnostic tests need to be performed to find
out more about your body and the status of your wound.
An individualized
treatment plan is established once the test results are determined.
This treatment can include specialized dressings, antibiotic therapy,
wound debridement, hyperbaric consultation, nutritional counseling,
physical therapy and consults with other physician specialists.
Follow-up visits for assessment and treatment are scheduled, or
referral to other services, such as Home Health Care, can be arranged.
A comprehensive
wound care approach is recommended for all patients with non-healing
wounds. A non-healing, chronic wound can be frustrating, time-consuming
and costly to both patients and insurers. The team approach can
result in less cost and quicker healing of the wound.
The core team
includes the referring physician, Wound Center physician and nurse
specialists, who work with other specialists and services including:
Hyperbaric
Oxygen Therapy
Vascular Surgeons
