joint pain and stiffness result from arthritis, trauma or joint
disease, we offer effective3 and appropriate treatments that are

to resume your normal activities as much as is possible for you.
At The Methodist
Hospitals Center for Hip and Knee Surgery, we have committed the
highest quality resources to the care and repair of major joints.
Our team of highly skilled doctors and healthcare professionals
is dedicated to helping individuals resume their normal activities
without debilitating joint pain.
The Orthopedic
Team Advantage
Led by the expertise
and experience of our orthopedic surgeons, our specialized team
of orthopedic nurses and therapists provides an environment specially
designed for joint replacement patients with a focus on education,
individual therapy and family participation, in an effort to encourage
rapid recovery and return to home.
Every patient
is assigned to a care coordinator who provides direction through
the process from pre-admission testing to education, through surgery
and rehabilitation. This personalized approach is designed to help
patients reach their goals for recovery in a more efficient and
effective manner.
Education is
an important part of the patient's experience at the Center for
Hip and Knee Surgery. Before each surgery each patient receives
training and views a video about his or her diagnosis and the joint
replacement procedure so they know what to expect and how to prepare
for their surgery.
Once the surgery
has been completed, the team of nurses and therapists assists patients
in reaching their goals to regain their strength and mobility for
living as independently as possible. The care coordinator will assist
each patient and their family with any needs they may have related
to discharge.
