Methodist Hospitals reported this week its cancer program has earned a three-year accreditation with commendations from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
The hospital's cancer program has been able to maintain an accreditation by the commission for about 25 years, a release from the hospital states.
"The commitment of the hospital's physicians, administration and staff to quality and excellence made this achievement possible," Methodist Hospitals President and CEO Claude Watts Jr. said in the written statement. "Recognition and thanks is given to the hospital's cancer committee."
The cancer program received the commendation by expanding the number of cancer services, the release states.
Methodist said the achievement ensures patients will receive comprehensive care and information regarding clinical trials and new treatment options.
