Ain't no mountain high enough to keep us from reaching our goal of saving lives... was the theme for this year's 2007 's Heart of Gold Ball held in the beautiful Celebrity Ballroom at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville. The event had a Motown theme that kept the room rocking the entire evening.
The ball had more than 550 guests attending and the Radisson Hotel, under the catering direction of Margie Cosentino, served an array of outstanding food throughout the ballroom. The evening ended with a Motown musical dessert parade that was just delightful.
Michael Spiccia did a great job as this year's master of ceremonies. (He seemed to enjoy himself when he was on stage with the evening's entertainment the Whitney Nots - who entertained guests with a Motown review - and Motown DJ Demitrious, who kept the music grooving.
This year's goal of $200,000 was surpassed through the generosity of all of the sponsors and donors who make the event a success.
