Methodist Hospitals volunteers and Kiwanis ease children’s trauma
The Merrillville Breakfast Kiwanis Club is distributing 200 trauma dolls to local hospitals, including Methodist Hospitals, as well as police and fire departments. The hospital’s Auxiliary will distribute the muslin dolls which are designed to ease a child through a traumatic time. The dolls come with two markers that children can use to decorate their doll or indicate where they have been hurt, either in an accident or from a case of physical or sexual abuse. The dolls will be used in addition to hand-sewn dolls already created by Methodist Hospitals volunteers.
