Methodist Hospitals offers discounted Heart Scans for American Heart Month
In honor of American Heart Month, Methodist Hospitals is offering discounted heart scans during the month of February. Heart scans scheduled for February will be reduced from $255 to $200.
A heart scan is a specialized CT that measures calcium in the coronary arteries. The amount of calcium in the arteries is an indicator of future risk of cardiac events and can also give an estimate of the severity of coronary artery blockages.
Heart scans may be appropriate for men age 35 or older and women over 40 with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, history of tobacco use, family history of heart disease, overweight or obesity or significant emotional or job-related stress.
