Field Surgical Associates Join Methodist Hospitals

We are pleased to welcome Field Surgical Associates to our Medical Staff. Field Surgical Associates offer a full range of surgical care to our Northlake patients including the latest minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic procedures, cancer surgery, general surgery, thoracic and vascular surgical procedures.Their practice is located at 650 Grant Street, Suite# 4, Gary, IN 46402 phone: 219.886.4356 fax: 219.881.2836.

Field Surgical Associates consist of three highly skilled, board certified surgeons:

Timothy C. Field, M.D. - Dr. Timothy Field is a board certified general surgeon specializing in general, vascular and thoracic surgery. He was instrumental in developing non-invasive endovascular procedures in the south suburbs of Chicago and Ingalls Memorial Hospital, where he served as Chairman of Surgery from 2006 to 2008. Dr. Field received his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago and completed his internship, surgical residency and vascular fellowship at Loyola University in Maywood, IL.

Carl W. Johnson, M.D. - Dr. Carl Johnson is a board certified general surgeon who specializes in breast, colon, gallbladder, hernia and vascular access procedures. Dr. Johnson received his medical degree from Howard University Medical School in Washington, D.C., and completed his internship and surgical residency at Howard University Hospital. He became a fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2004.

Michael S. Romberg, M.D. - Dr. Michael Romberg is a board certified general surgeon who specializes in a full range of cancer surgeries. Dr. Romberg’s oncology expertise includes lumpectomy, mastectomy, thoracoscopy, mediastinoscopy, sentinel node biopsy and more. He received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
