Methodist Hospitals Free Fall Community Health Fair

Methodist Hospitals held its Free Fall Community Health Fair on Saturday, November 7 at the Helenic Cultural Center in Merrillville, IN. Participants had the opportunity to take advantage of free health screenings including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body fat analysis, bone density, oximetry and PSA screening. The event held from 9 am to 12 pm attracted over 400 Northwest Indiana residents. In addition to the free screenings, many of the hospital services were represented by healthcare professionals with free literature and giveaways for everyone that attended. Max, the Methodist Mascot was on hand to greet the particpants, staff and physicians!

Participants also had the opportunity to speak to a physician about their screening results or health questions. This years participating physicians included: Jeffery Flagg, MD, Plastic Surgeon, Melissa Mahoney, MD, OB/GYN, Michael McGee, MD, Chief Medical Director of Emergency Services, Joi Bradshw, MD, OB/GYN, Omar Shamsi, MD, Bariatric Physician Medical Nutritionist and Debbie Equihua, BSN, CNM, MS, Certified Nurse Midwife.
