Methodist Hospitals and St. Anthony Medical Center recognized for stroke care

Methodist Hospitals and Saint Anthony
Medical Center were nationally recognized
for quality stroke care. HealthGrades, the
leading independent health care ratings
organization, placed Methodist Hospitals in
the top 10 percent in the nation for the
sixth year in a row. Methodist Hospitals
also received five-star ratings for treating
heart and respiratory failure and for
performing gastrointestinal procedures.
"These awards are a testament to the hard
work and dedication of our physicians,
nurses and employees," Ian McFadden, CEO and
president of Methodist Hospitals, said.
St. Anthony Medical Center received
five-star ratings for treating strokes for
the eighth consecutive year and also was
recognized for its high quality orthopaedic
care.
"We look forward to making even further
strides in these areas and are honored by
the national recognition we have received,"
David Ruskowski, president of Saint Anthony
Medical Center, said.
HealthGrades rates more than 5,000 hospitals
and 16,000 nursing homes across the country.
