Methodist Hospitals - Leading the way to better health.

Gary, November 2011 –In the spirit of Thanksgiving members of the Methodist Hospitals’ management team, who attended a team building workshop, dressed like Pilgrims and Indians, and donated non-perishable food items for the Northwest Indiana Food Bank.
 

The Merrillville Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins held a Community Day Fundraiser to benefit the Methodist Hospitals Foundation.

As authors, we have shared experiences in the healthcare setting as professionals, as patients, and as support for our families.  Our basic knowledge of safe nursing and hospital practices has proved helpful on multiple occasions.  Our intent is to share some of the knowledge we have gained from our personal and professional experiences.

Students in the art class of Janet Anderson at Merrillville High School participated in the Spring Spa Day for cancer survivors hosted by the Oncology Institute at Methodist Hospitals.

Methodist Hospitals’ Breast Cancer Program has been granted a three-year, full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program directed by the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.

Methodist Hospitals recently received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Performance Achievement Award. The award recognizes Methodist Hospital’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment for at least 24 months according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
