On April 30, Methodist Hospitals will present Spring Spa Day, an event that provides breast cancer patients and survivors an opportunity to be educated and pampered.
Spring Spa Day is an event made possible through the efforts of Methodist’s Oncology Department and a grant through the Pink Ribbon Society. This year’s event will feature bone density screenings, chair massages, vendor booths, raffle prizes and survivor testimonials.
The keynote speaker at Spring Spa Day will be Tanaz Bamboat, Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and Teacher. Bamboat is a certified Instructor for Laughter Yoga, a new concept in body-mind medicine. She has given seminars at hospitals, senior communities, health clubs, banks, peace centers, schools, libraries and parks and has offered training sessions in various different settings
This event will be held on April 30 at Methodist Hospitals Center for Advanced Clinical Studies (CACS) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
CACS will also host the Lilly Oncology on Canvas, an art exhibition honoring the journeys traveled by millions of people affected by cancer worldwide, starting Monday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Saturday, April 30 (during the Spring Spa Day event). There will be approximately 30 pieces of art on display. The art exhibit is open to the general public.
Lilly Oncology on Canvas was created in 2004 by Eli Lilly and Company and is a biennial competition that invites people diagnosed with any type of cancer, their families and friends, cancer advocates, health care providers, as well as artists and art students to express, through art and in narrative, their own cancer journeys.
If you or a loved one is a Breast Cancer Survivor and would like to register for Spring Spa Day please call 1.888.909-DOCS(3627). Space is limited.
